There is a growing marketplace for carbon offsets for things like travel, and it can be confusing which one to use. I prefer the German non-profit Atmosfair, which has a user-friendly interface and robust auditing practices. They promote CO₂ mitigation by sponsoring, developing and financing renewable energies in over 15 countries worldwide. They rely exclusively on voluntary climate payments from private individuals and businesses. I am an expert in neither travel nor carbon markets though, so please send me a note if you have better resources.
